Each year, United Methodist congregations gather with their district superintendent to celebrate ministry, elect leaders, and conduct official church business. Join us at the Abernathy Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. for our annual Charge Conference and the opportunity to meet our new district superintendent, Rev. Dr. Julie Boone.

During this season of transition, we’re hosting regular gatherings to keep everyone informed about the redevelopment process. All are welcome to stay after worship on Sunday, Nov. 9, to offer feedback on worship at the Abernathy Arts Center, hear an update from Church Council on 2026 goals following their Oct. 25 retreat, and learn the latest on the demolition timeline and estate sale wrap-up.

Beginning Sunday, Oct. 12, we will worship at 11 a.m. at the Abernathy Arts Center. Thanks to the thoughtful work of our Temporary Space Team, we have found a bright and welcoming place for worship with high ceilings and a blend of modern and sacred. The center also offers classrooms for Sunday school and children’s church, full accessibility, outdoor space for fellowship, a kitchenette, on-site storage, and set-up for chairs and tables. As we move forward with our campus redevelopment, join us for a special day of worship and remembrance as we give thanks for our North Campus on Oct. 5. At 9:30 a.m., we will gather on the front lawn for a Blessing of the Building, walking through significant spaces to share stories and offer prayers of gratitude. At 11 a.m., we will hold a Service of Deconsecration in the Sanctuary, with refreshments on the front lawn following worship. This will be the last time to worship in this space together as it currently stands.

We are in a season of change and transformation as a church. On Sunday, Sept. 21, all are invited to stay after worship for a congregational conversation in the Sanctuary.

We’ll share more details about what to expect on Oct. 5 and 12, during the upcoming estate sale, the building demolition timeline, and updates on what’s ahead. This will also be a time to answer questions and hear your feedback and ideas as we walk through this season together. Make plans to join us!
