What To Expect
We are glad you are interested in worship at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. As we say each week: whoever you are, wherever you find yourself on your faith journey, you are a beloved child of God and you are welcome here. Find more information below, but if you still have questions, reach out to main@ssumc.org.
Worship Time and Style
We have one worship service at 11 a.m. at the Abernathy Arts Center. Our service style is updated traditional. We sing together, hear music, pray together, read the bible, and hear a sermon that is based in scripture and relevant to our lives today. We celebrate communion weekly.
Children are welcome in worship! Everyone begins the worship service together, and then children are invited forward for the children’s moment early in the service, if they choose to participate. After the children’s moment and passing of the peace, children are invited to meet our Director of Family Ministries and a volunteer to attend “children’s church”, where they’ll learn about the same scripture as the adults through age-appropriate activities. Children return for communion.

Where to Park:
You are invited to park in the small parking lot next to the tennis courts or parallel park on Bridgewood Valley Rd. Handicap accessible spots are available in the small parking lot.

What to Wear:
You will find people in a variety of attire. We care that you are with us, not what you wear. Some will be in jeans; others in suits. Most people wear business casual. If you are watching the live stream, we recommend your pajamas!
Sunday School:
We have Sunday School Options for adults, children, and youth before worship. Looking for a class where you can grow in your faith and connect with others? Email kfloyd@ssumc.org to find the best fit.
Children ages 4 through 5th grade will gather in the gallery space (and outside if the weather is nice!) with Ms. Meri for Sunday School. Our youth, 6th-12th Graders, gather with Ms. Candace in the gallery space.
What happens after I visit:
We have connection cards that you may fill out (in person or online) with your information, and we will be in touch. Stop by our connect table to receive a visitor gift, chat with one of our volunteers or staff, and learn more about the church
